ABOUT THE EVENT
The Overcomer Project: A Portrait Study of Hope is a new exhibition by photographer Amy Marlan. The project pairs personal storytelling with fine art portraiture: Amy met with each participant, heard their story of overcoming, and created a portrait that visually expresses their journey. Each artwork is titled with a single word selected by the subject, capturing the essence of what they overcame. The result is a collection that speaks to the universal truth that we are all overcoming something and that we all need each other.
