She is a member of Oil Painters of America, the California Art Club, American Women Artists, and the American Impressionist, Outdoor Painters, and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Societies.
Sheryl has been teaching art classes and workshops for over two decades, and for the past six years has offered instruction in gouache.
About the Class
This workshop is for all levels of painters, from beginner to advanced.
Participants will learn to paint with gouache, an amazing medium that offers unique textures and vibrant colors. While gouache has been around for centuries, it has been enjoying a popular revival in the last few years. Often described and opaque watercolor, gouache is easy and fun to use.
Having painted with both oil and watercolor, Sheryl finds gouache has many advantages and is easy to learn. It is water-based, opaque, can be layered and requires minimal supplies.
The class will be taught in the mezzanine studio at The Gallery in Arroyo Grande.
