About The Artist
Ken Christensen is a prominent California artist, published-author and founder of The New Fauves, a movement dedicated to carrying forward the expressive lineage of early 20th-century French masters.
Born in Ohio, raised in Michigan, Ken lived and travelled for a decade in Europe, before returning to the US. Now living on the California Central Coast , Ken continues to paint, teach and travel regularly to find fresh inspiration.
Artistic Vision
Ken captures the emotion of a scene using bold deliberate colors, rather than fleeting light. Through painterly brushwork, deep contours, and a sculptural impasto application, Ken transforms real-life subjects into monumental statements on canvas.
